Carmabi celebrates its 60th anniversary
WILLEMSTAD – Last Thursday was a day to celebrate for Carmabi. It was their 60thanniversary. Carmabi, originally short for the Caribbean Marine Biological Institute was founded in 1955 and is the largest field station in the Southern Caribbean.
At a reception invited guests, who maintain a close relationship with the organization, and the director of the organization, Paul Stokkermans discussed the future and the past of Carmabi.
The participants in the conference of the Association of Marine Laboratories of the Caribbean, the AMLC were also present. This conference takes place every two years and this year it was in Curaçao.
