CBS with survey on the economic situation of Curacao

WillemstadWILLEMSTAD - The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) will start this month with a survey on the economic situation (year 2013) in Curaçao.

The aim of this survey is to provide information on a frequent basis on business and economic developments.

The study will be conducted among all companies with ten or more employees, while a sample will be taken of companies with less than ten employees.

In total, over 800 companies will be approached by CBS. Of these, 442 will be visited by interviewers who will distribute the questionnaire and will assist the company in completing them if desired. Most companies, 333 of them, will receive the questionnaire by e-mail. In the past, they have indicated that this is the preferred method.

The questions are regarding estimates of sales for the full year of 2013.

There are also questions relating to the judgment of the operator on a number of indicators such as investment barriers, competitiveness, business confidence and investment climate.

With such information, both government and business can make better, faster and more solid decisions.

The survey will be completely confidential in accordance with the Statistics Act

For the success of this survey is, of course, the input of the industry of great importance. CBS therefore appeals to all companies that will be approached to support this survey with their cooperation and thank them in advance for taking their time.
