Consumers’ association tackles utility company

WILLEMSTAD – The “Fundashon pa Konsumido” (FpK) (consumers' association of Curaçao) will tackle the utility company Aqualectra. They will do this with the assistance of the Ombudsman.

There is growing group of consumers who are experiencing damages to their electrical appliances due to the poor quality of electricity, which is supplied by the utility company.

According to a representative of the FpK, many consumers have problems in their homes but cannot claim this on Aqualectra. The utility company relies on its terms and conditions to avoid liability.

The consumers' association wants to do something about that now and will assist a large number of residents of the Tera Kora neighborhood as a first step.
