CPI light increase in November

Curacao statisticsWILLEMSTAD - The consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.1 percent last month compared to October, from 121.6 to 121.7. Measured over a period of 12 months, prices have increased by 1.3 percent. This is according to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).

The two major price increases in November were the electricity rate increase (+8 percent) and water (+4 percent). Mainly this spending category 'Living' was 2 percent. The major price drop for the month was product gas, which became 5 percent cheaper. The spending category 'Transport and Communications' became 0.9 percent cheaper.
