DAE expands it’s wings to Colombia

WILLEMSTAD - October marks another milestone for Dutch Antilles Express when the airline opens its office in Bogota, on the eve of the start of its operations in Colombia. Dutch Antilles Express will start flying to Bogota and Barranquilla during the first week of December.

The airline appointed Mr. Salvador Parada, the present Manager for the Dutch Antilles Express in the Dominican Republic as General Manager for Colombia. Mr. Parada has served for many years as the General Manager of Aeropostal in Colombia. He has excellent relations with and is recognized by the most important tour and travel agent operators in Colombia. Dutch Antilles Express will start selling tickets to Bogota as of October 15.

Dutch Antilles Airlines will start its flights to Colombia with three direct weekly flights to Bogota with an MD83 and three flights to Barranquilla with a Fokker 100. The airline will, in January 2013, start with direct flights to Cartagena with its ATR while flights to Bucaramanga and Cali will be opened later in 2013.

“Dutch Antilles Express will in 2013 progress and become the airline of choice for the people of Colombia to travel to the Caribbean. The flights to and from Colombia will connect through the hub of Dutch Antilles Express at the Curaçao International Airport. Passengers out of Colombia will have immediate connection to the other destinations in the Caribbean, Venezuela or Miami” an excited Nelson Ramiz said.

Dutch Antilles Express recently signed a code sharing agreement with the Colombian airline Easyfly. Passengers of Dutch Antilles Express, thanks to this agreement, enjoy now better service and are guaranteed of swift access to other destinations in Colombia. Easyfly is the first low-cost carrier in Colombia that flies to more than 15 destinations around Colombia operating out of its hub in Bogota and Bucaramanga.
