DAE must pay debt before bankruptcy annulment

DAEWILLEMSTAD – To annul the bankruptcy of the local airline Dutch Antilles Express (DAE), the company has to prove to the court of justice that they are able to pay all outstanding debts. This is according to the company’s legal councilor, Arndt van Hoof of the law firm Soliana Bonapart & Aardenburg.

DAE’s appeal will take place on Wednesday September 18, 2013 and is filed by DAE’s director Steve Sloop, Development bank Korpodeko and the legal owner (former Prime Minister) Stanley Betrian.

Van Hoof did not want to comment about the chances of success but he does confirm that no appeal is filed if the opportunity was not there to annul the bankruptcy. Van Hoof could also not confirm if there is an investor interested in the company.
