Dutch Caribbean students well received in Rotterdam
ROTTERDAM, WILLEMSTAD - The traditional meeting for Dutch Caribbean freshmen students who chose Rotterdam as the city for their education, took place this year on August 6, 2015 in the monumental Citizens Hall of the City of Rotterdam.
The fresh students from the islands of Curacao, Aruba, St. Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba were personally addressed, among others, by the Minister Plenipotentiary of Curaçao, Mrs. MarvelyneWiels, the Acting Director of the Aruba House Mrs. Shandra John and the deputy city manager of Rotterdam, Mr. A. Vervooren.
The newbies also got tips and good advice from seasoned students who a few years ago came to Rotterdam to study. “Make sure you make it the first year. Buy a bicycle and explore the city. Also make Dutch friends and learn about the culture. And make sure you sound the alarm if it doesn’t go well.”
The meeting with the students took place in excellent atmosphere.
