Extra: CTB Director did not accept deal and will go to court

ghatimWILLEMSTAD – According to the local newspaper Extra, Curacao Tourism Board Director, Ghatim Kabarra did not accept the deal he was offered by the Board of Supervisors of the organization. Instead the former Director will take the Government and the Board to court.

According to the sources of the newspaper, a proposal was offered to Kabarra last week by a committee which was installed especially for this case. All this because the CTB employees think that there is too much conflict with the former Director. Many attempts to find out what exactly happened were to no avail. While tourism in the region was declining, Curacao still saw an increase, especially from South America. This could mean that the Director was doing a good job, according to Extra.

In situation emerged in which the Director was forced to take a leave and the interim Director was warned. According to sources it had to do with an order from the Director to transfer funds to another account while this order was suppose to come from the Board of Supervisors. Now no one at CTB wants the Director and they got rid of him.

A committee was formed to prepare a deal for Mr. Kabarra and he refused to accept it. He will now take CTB and the Government to court because he thinks that what happened to him is an injustice.
