First half year 2014 has fewer passengers via Hato

airportWILLEMSTAD - The number of visitors from Hato International Airport and June this year fell by 6 percent compared to last year. This is according to the figures from a research done by the Curacao Airport Partners (CAP), which was published in various media sources.

During the first half of this year, there were 789.202 travelers who landed in the Curaçao airport. The decrease was mainly noticeable in the number of passengers on the ‘domestic’ flights from the islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Sint Maarten.

The number of departing international passengers remained virtually unchanged. With a decline of 29 percent, the number of 'transfer' passengers fell the most. The disappearance of a large number of Venezuelan travelers who previously used Curaçao as interconnection, is seen as the main cause for this decline.
