Fuel prices down in June

CuroilWILLEMSTAD – Fuel prices will go down next month. This is according to the Director of Bureau Telecommunications, Post and Utilities (BTP&U), Joao de Canha.  De Canha did not announce what the new prices for gas and diesel will be. The final decision still lies with Minister of Finance, Dr. Jose Jardim.

De Canha explained that every month BTP&U sends its advice on the fuel prices to the Minister of Finance. This should then be discussed in the Cabinet and approved by the Minister. Once approved, the new fuel prices will be announced.

De Canha already indicated this month that the fuel prices will go down. “Two months after the international market of oil prices per barrel changes, we notice the effect here in Curaçao, "said the BTP&U Director. The average price for a barrel of oil was in April 103 dollars compared to 106 dollars in March.
