Geldof first rock astronaut into space from Curacao

Spaceship-modelWILLEMSTAD – Tourist space flights from Curacao will finally start at the end of 2014. Ben Droste, initiator of the Dutch SXC, sees no barriers anymore. "The government of Curaçao is fully cooperating with it,” according to the Dutch newspaper de Telegraaf.

The Irish rock star Sir Bob Geldof has bought a ticket at Space Expedition Corporation in Amsterdam worth 100,000 dollars for a space trip of an hour in a double seat plane, the U.S. 'Lynx' which will start test flying at the end of this year. On September 26, Geldof gets his first ground training at Soesterberg in the latest simulator.
