Hanst: Assessment oil refinery is common

oil refineryWILLEMSTAD - It's common for the refinery to assess what the conditions are of its metal installations. Ahead of the talks on the future of the refinery, such assessments are being conducted once again,” Acting Director Irving Hanst of Refineria di Kòrsou (RdK) said.

Hanst responded to reports that the government would allow a foreign company to assess the value of the refinery on short term. In this assessment it will be about the so-called ‘remaining life’, for example, the catcracker pipes and how long the parts can still be used, the Director explained.

“An auditing firm will analyze the documents where it is indicated when the last revision took place. Through this assessment we can decide whether to clean up to keep or replace certain parts.”

Should the research show that the information in the documents is missing, then there is always the possibility of a second, more specialized research, according to Hanst.

This may be determined on the basis of X-ray examination what the lifetime of the equipments is. RdK will start the process for a public tender for the accountant’s research.

The director assumes that the research by the accounting firm will be known around the end of June.
