Investigation into dumped records of patients

Jan HuurmanWILLEMSTAD – Health Inspectorate has started an investigation into the medical records which were recently found between waste on the street. These data’s originate from the Government’s Laboratory, Medical Laboratory Services and the Public Health Service.

The environmental and recycling organization Green Force found the records which dates from 1996 and 1998 and were dumped in the area of Coral Tabak (Nort east side of the island). Health Inspecto Jan Huurman says that it is unacceptable that patient’s information are openly displayed on the street. He has also criticized Green Force for sending photos to the media. “If names are readable then it is also a violation of privacy,” according to Huurman.
