Janssen: ‘Construction on site old hospital not a good idea’

Curacao hospitalWILLEMSTAD – The new hospital’s project leader, Theo Janssen, does not think that the idea of a new hospital on the premises of the old one is a good idea. According to Janssen, the gradual demolition and construction of a new building will take double the time compared to construction on an open area.

Janssen also stated that he does not think it’s a good idea since there will be inconvenience for the patience because of the dust, constant vibration and noise which cannot be kept to a minimal. The project leader also think that it is unrealistic that construction can be started within four months.

The political party PAR has requested a public meeting of Parliament to see the plans for the new hospital. The yellow party believes that there is too much debate and no decision on this matter. The construction of the new hospital is too urgent to wait longer.
