LACNIC Caribbean 6 – CaribNOG 8 – The Internet event held in Curaçao

FLYER-EN (1024x965)WILLEMSTAD – The Hilton Curaçao Resort Hotel will host the upcoming LACNIC Caribbean 6 - CaribNOG 8 meeting, which will be held from 29 September to 3 October in Willemstad, Curaçao.

LACNIC Caribbean is an annual community-based meeting focused on topics that are relevant to the Caribbean, such as DNSSEC, cyber security, IPv6 for the  private  sector, cloud computing, peering, and CDNs. It is one of the largest annual gatherings of the Caribbean Internet community and seeks to   create a forum where participants can share their experiences and discuss key issues    relating to the future of the Internet at regional and global level.

The goals of this event are to address Internet issues specific to the region; to provide spaces for discussion, networking and the sharing of experiences; and to offer specialized technical training.

LACNIC Caribbean 6 will be co-located with CaribNOG 8, the meeting of the Latin American and Caribbean Network Operators Group. This community of network operators and stakeholders provides the Caribbean region with a forum for sharing experiences and         know-how, building capacity, and promoting relevant technical knowledge and solutions.

Both LACNIC and CaribNOG support the Caribbean region’s development and look forward to contributing in this sense.

Among other topics, the LACNIC Caribbean 6 program includes current computer security challenges, IPv6 for companies, peering, datacenters and infrastructure for companies, a cloud computing lab and DNSSEC.

These topics will be presented by prominent experts, among them Carlos Martínez (LACNIC), Mark Kosters (ARIN), Steve Spence, Alejandro Acosta, Robin Ryan, Rusell O´Neil, Chris Roberts, Stephen Lee, and Sofía Silva.,  Amsix,  Google, Internet Society and Microsoft sponsor LACNIC Caribbean 6 – CaribNOG 8.
