More and more pharmacies in trouble
WILLEMSTAD – There is an increasing number of pharmacies that will not make it financially. This was reported in the local morning newspaper Extra today. According to the newspaper, some of these pharmacies will close their doors in the last quarter of the year.
The pharmacy on Jan Noorduynweg (Santa Maria area) already had problems with its utilities. They were cut off by Aqualectra. The pharmacy had to use these utilities from its neighbor. The customer and staff even had to use the neighbor’s bathroom.
The newspaper indicates that the problem is the policy set by the Social Insurance Bank (SVB). The SVB has changed the agreement in provision of medications.
