Other conditions on passport application

Dutch passportWILLEMSTAD – Starting on Monday passports will be equipped with two fingerprints of the passport holder. This is according to the Ministry of Government Policy, Planning and Service.  Before it was four fingerprints, but in the Dutch Kingdom, it is now reduced to two.

Applicants now have to have their left and right index fingerprints in their new passport.

Other changes

There are more changes, such as the validity of the travel document. Previously a passport was valid for five years; starting March 9 a passport is valid for ten years. The condition is that the passport holder is eighteen years or older. Five-year passports for minors remain valid. The price of a passport, now 100 guilders, is increased. The government has yet to make a decision on the new price.
