Parents still have to pay for their children’s education

CuracaoWILLEMSTAD – Parents who are not registered at the Curacao Education Financing Foundation must still pay for the education of their children.  The costs of education will not be reimbursed. It is still not clear what the Roman Catholic School Board will charge the parents for the education of their children.

Financial Director Karina Lombard de Freitas Bras, told the media that she sees 'very dark clouds " coming our way because of these measures. So it may be that later this year that some students cannot be awarded with a diploma because the parents have outstanding debt at the school.

In total, a sum of 800,000 florins must be claimed from the parents who have children at HAVO, VWO and SBO-schools (different levels of high schools in Curacao).
