Pharmacists rate already in 2011 adopted

SVBWILLEMSTAD – The rate of seven per guilder that is paid to the pharmacists to provide medication, in addition to the cost of the drug itself, was already established in 2011. This is evident from the report 'Research Norm Income Pharmacies, in November 2011, which was prepared at the request of the then Minister of Health, Environment and Nature, Jacinta Constancia.

Recently pharmacists conducted action against the price because the Government did not discuss this with them. Instead they went to Parliament and had the new basic insurance passed without consulting with other players in the field. According to the pharmacists the margin, set by the Government, would be too small to be profitable.
