President of the Central Bank must go according to Prime Ministers

WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte has admitted that the President of the Central Bank, Dr. Emsley Tromp must go away because he publicly accused the Prime Minister and two of his ministers of corruption.

Curaçao and St. Maarten are arguing now for months about Dr. Tromp. St. Maarten wants an investigation of Tromp, but then in a larger inquiry into the performance of the entire Central Bank.

Many are saying that the Prime Minister just wants revenge before the elections of October 19, which could bring a change in the Government. Dr. Tromp accused the Prime Minister, Minister of Finances Mr. George Jamaloodin and the Minister of Economic Development Mr. Nasser Hakim of corruption.
