Results investigation complaints about the new one-guilder coins

Central BankWILLEMSTAD - After the Central Bank of Curacao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) had been informed about the problems with the acceptance of the new one-guilder coins with the image of HRH King William Alexander by parking meters, the CBCS in collaboration with the Royal Dutch Mint started an investigation.

The result of the investigation has shown that there is at least no difference in weight, diameter or thickness between the old and the new guilders. The refusal of the coins by the vending machines, due to a possible difference in weight, diameter or thickness is therefore excluded.

Other possible causes are still being investigated.

The Bank regrets the inconvenience experienced by the public and hopes to solve this as soon as possible.
