SAMBIL Curaçao meets baseball players

Freddy Cohen i beisbolistananWILLEMSTAD - On Tuesday, a group of Curaçao’s baseball players visited Sambil and met with some of the members of the Cohen family.

Those who already know Sambil a little know that Sambil Valencia has the shape of a baseball field. Not only because it is the most popular sport in that city and the rest of the country, but also because the Cohen family is fascinated with the sport. The shopping center in Valencia also has a baseball museum especially for the Venezuelan baseball players and the sport in general and a well-known hall of fame. During this meeting, a comparison was made between the number of local baseball players abroad and the population, both for Venezuela and Curaçao. The results based on this comparison: Curaçao has more talent in baseball.Alejandro Cohen & Beisbolistanan

The Cohen family is responsible for the construction of all eight existing Sambil shopping malls, including one Sambil in the Dominican Republic. Sambil Curaçao will be number nine when its doors open in the first half of 2014. This develops a sense of trust, if we look at the success of all existing malls. Construction is going very well and now more than ever the progress is really visible. Reason enough to invite our young local talents to come take a look behind the curtains. Mister Alfredo ‘Freddy’ Cohen Sambil Aerial 1 26112013himself, with his nephew Alejandro Cohen and Ashanty Bonafasia (Sales & Marketing representative for Sambil Curaçao) gave the boys a presentation and guided tour. During lunch, ideas were exchanged on how to help our island move forward. The Cohens briefly explained the way they work. They do not only build a shopping mall, but Sambil does more than this. Among other this Sambil organizes community projects and participates and charity events. Given that our baseball players are known for "giving back" to the community and especially the neighborhood where they grew up, this was a very good opportunity to exchange ideas with each other and already start thinking about possible projects for the future. Sambil: more than a shopping mall!
