Schotte leaves Fort Amsterdam

WILLEMSTAD – Former Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte of Curaçao has left the government building in Willemstad. He was on his way to the office of his political party, where he is expected to speak.

Gerrit Schotte walked from the government building to the office of his political party where there is a press conference going on. He’s expected to speak at this press conference.

It is not yet clear whether he resigns himself to the new situation. Yesterday the governor appointed a new interim government, but Schotte and his ministers refused to resign. They announced that they will occupy Fort Amsterdam, the government building, and would not leave until the elections on October 19.
