Sea water cooling project in Hato is very popular

WILLEMSTAD – A number of companies in the Hato area wants to join in the seawater cooling project which is being developed between Curacao Airport Holding and International Ecopower. The project is part of the master plan to develop the airport.

SeaWater Air Conditioning (SWAC) takes advantage of available deep cold seawater to replace energy-intensive central refrigeration systems that cool chilled water to provide air conditioning in one or more buildings. The cool seawater is many times more cost effective than conventional cooling methods.

According to the initiators, the new project brings more opportunities for new economic activities in and around the airport.
