SMOC: ‘Clean air for royal couple’

SmocWILLEMSTAD – The oil refinery does have good intentions for the royal couple who are now on an introduction tour of the island. This is according to the Curacao Clean Environment Foundation (SMOC).

The foundation reports that the emission standards of pollutants, such as sulfur dioxide, were heavily exceeded last week. The contrast with the measured quantities of yesterday is remarkable.

The oil refinery seems to make an exception for the visit of King Willem-Alexander and Maxima queen. Emissions of sulfur dioxide were virtually zero yesterday according to a SMOC report.
