Special Information About Earthquake

WILLEMSTAD – At about 10:52PM, an earthquake took place below the bottom of the sea.

This tremor was felt in some sections of the Curacao.

Data received from the Fundacion Venezolana de Investigaciones Sismológicas (FUNVISIS) indicates that this tremor took place at a depth of about 35.6 km below the bottom of the sea with a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter Scale. Its epicenter was located near 11.91 degrees north and 68.89 degrees west. This is about 23 km southeast of Willemstad and 19 km south of Jan Thiel.

This is the only informative bulletin issued by the Meteorological Department of Curaçao on this event.
