Venezuelan floating market to return to Sha Caprileskade
WILLEMSTAD - According to the Minister of Economic Development Steven Martina, the Venezuelan fruit boats will return to their original location in downtown Punda, the Sha Capriles quay.
During a national dialogue two weeks ago it appeared that a majority of the participants were in favor of the plan to let the Venezuelans return to their old place. Since their return after the border blockade, they have been selling their fruit and vegetables across the Klein Werf.
After the boats left in March with no prospect of returning to Curacao, the government decided to open the spot to local sellers. They too can now have a spot the Sha Caprileskade, but not with fruit and vegetables. A number of places are reserved for the sale of food or local art by Curaçao sellers.
