Work on Queen Emma Bridge

Queen Emma BridgeWILLEMSTAD – The well known floating bridge, the Queen Emma Bridge, which connects downtown Punda to Otrobanda (the other side) will finally get its new coating. The old coating, which is not so old, will be replaced because of manufacturing defects.

The work will start in the second half of January. Due to a design fault, the wooden underlay is rotten and now the bridge is no longer safe for pedestrians.

The new layer costs almost 4.000 guilders. During the work, which takes about 6 to 8 weeks, the bridge will be open for pedestrians.
