Hodge viewed documents indicating oil and gas sites

National ArchiveWILLEMSTAD - Outgoing Prime Minister Daniel Hodge recently paid a visit to the National Archives to personally look at documents and maps supposedly containing information about where the deposits of oil and gas are in the territorial waters and the island’s soil.

Two weeks ago, Parliament made a request to the Prime Minister. He must find the documents containing information on gas and oil. According to some members of Parliament, former Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte took these documents when he was deposed as Prime Minister.  After the night when Schotte finally left Fort Amsterdam, he showed these documents and maps during a party press conference.

Hodge asked several questions about the maps with the locations. During the visit to the archives, the Prime Minister was able to see for himself various maps.  He was also able to see reports of investigations on the presence of oil and gas in the local soil.
