Royal decorations for outstanding citizens
WILLEMSTAD - The Governor of Curaçao, Her Excellency Lucille George-Wout, on behalf of His Majesty the King Willem-Alexander decorated 16 citizens with the Royal Honor for their years of special merits in favor of the community. This happened during an official ceremony at the palace of Fort Amsterdam this morning.
One of the citizens could not be present at the official ceremony and will be decorated by the Governor of Curaçao at a later date. In addition, the Governor has been able to decorate a Dutch soldier with a royal honor at the Marine Barracks Parera.
The following are decorated with a royal distinction:
- Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau, with swords: Captain-Commander Sea E.G.J. Hekkers;
- Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau, in promotion: Mr A. W. Owers
