An historic, but chaotic, time in the Curacao political arena

WILLEMSTAD - After PAR has rejected the proposals from the Informateur citing that the documents presented do not contain what has been negotiated, now the four parties have found each other on common grounds. Pueblo Soberano (PS), PAR, PAIS and PNP have signed a document which has as base the formation of a new government for Curacao.

Informateur Glenn Camelia will inform the Acting Governor Adele van der Pluijm-Vrede about the information process and the willingness to form a government together.

The four political leaders have signed the willingness declaration this afternoon. These leaders are for PS, Helmin Wiels, for PAR, Emily de Jongh-Elhage, for PAIS, Alex Rosaria and for PNP, Humphrey Davelaar.

If this willingness agreement resorts to the forming of a government then it will be an historic day. As is well known PS has expressed till recently that they are not willing to work with PAR. Helmin Wiels has stated though that to heal wounds and to bring unity between the people of Curacao it is imperative that the two parties work on reconciliation in a coalition and solve the financial problems of the island.
