Cijntje (PS) threatening to pull the plug on the coalition

Melvin CijntjeWILLEMSTAD – The member of the coalition Pueblo Soberano, Melvin ‘Mac’ Cijntje opposes the way the Minister of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning, Earl Balborda is handling the improvement project for the Curacao roads. “The Minister is trying to fool us,” Cijntje said.

“I do not agree with this. If the government continues this way, I will pull the plug on the coalition,” Cijntje declared emphatically.

The proposal for the implementation of the project was discussed last Wednesday in the Council of Ministers (RVM). To the outrage of the PNP leader, Humphrey Davelaar, the project at the request of Finance Minister Jose Jardim was held for further financial advice, according to Cijntje.

According to the PS chairman, he had suggested that the proposal would be treated during the weekly meeting of coalition leaders, which is held every Tuesday.

Independent Member of Parliament, Glenn Sulvaran notes that the decision to hold the project for further advice is Jardim’s task to guard the spending of the government.
