CTB to seek external financing for its master plan

CTBWILLEMSTAD - There is no money to execute the tourism master plan. This became clear during the weekend when the Members of Parliament were debating the budget for the coming year. The government presented the budget to parliament in September as is customary.

The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) is now looking for the necessary ten million guilders elsewhere for the financing of its master plan. This comes in addition to the almost 36 million subsidy that CTB receives each year from the government.

On several occasions, CTB has indicated that the 36 million guilders are not enough to promote Curaçao in its main markets like the U.S., Canada and the Netherlands.

The tourism master plan focuses mainly on the U.S. market.
