Curaçao celebrates anniversary UNESCO membership
WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao celebrated yesterday the five-year associate membership in UNESCO. Three foundations and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (OWCS) symbolically received a check.
During the anniversary celebration the President of UNESCO Curacao, Marva Browne, presented a book on the activities of the local UN Division 2011-2016 to Minister Irene Dick. Every two years, a country may submit a maximum of seven project applications to the UN organization for Education, Science, and Culture, which it evaluates whether it will honor them or not.
For the year 2016-2017 four applications for Curacao were approved.
