Director Tayer Sosial disclaims allegations of poor care and unsuitable workplace

Mayra CoffieWILLEMSTAD - The board and management of Tayer Sosial in Santa Martha, denies all allegations that recently came out. This is according to Mayra Coffie, director of the institute, during a press conference this afternoon. According to the director, Minister Jean-Marie Fransisca was completely wrong about the state of affairs in the social workplace.

Earlier it was known that people (with disabilities) who work in the social work are not treated properly. They would be mistreated, underpaid, poorly fed and denied of all accommodations.  Coffie denied everything and says that everyone is treated properly on the social workplace.

The board and management were sent on a mandatory leave for three months last week by Minister Fransisca. The Minister announced that she will order an investigation at the social workplace. Coffie indicated that under the old statutes of the institute, the Minister may intervene prior to investigation. The new statutes should have been approved as of October 10, 2010 but that was not done by the Government.
