Dismissal Harold Daal was unlawful

WILLEMSTAD – Harold Daal, who was dismissed through a national decree of May 29, 2012 from his post as head of the Civil Registrar’s Office has won the lawsuit against the government and can fully recover all his rights as head of said department.  The sentence was already pronounced on November 7 and made known to the Interim Government, but has only now been made public.

The judge said the report on which Daal should be honorably discharged was improperly. Daal was also supposed to be nominated as sector-director of Public Affairs, but that appointment was stopped. The current Minister Cornelis Smits has already suggested that Daal should be restored back to his old post or, if he accepts, offer a suitable alternative employment.
