Ebola task force meets with Prime Minister

Premier AsjesWILLEMSTAD – The Prime Minister of Curaçao has requested a meeting with the Ebola task force. The reason was to inform each other about the virus, but also to talk about a preparedness program. “Ebola can become a possible social disaster for our island,” said the Prime Minister.

“This is why it is important for all stakeholders to come together and work together on one preparedness manual.”

It was the first time that all parties were together to discuss preparations for a possible Ebola outbreak. “All stakeholders are important for the government. That’s why we invited them to inform us.” From the tourism sector to the aviation association and the ADC laboratory to funeral directors. All of these companies form the informal task force, which will have a permanent nature if it’s up to the Prime Minister. “As a government we do our best. We are already well prepared, we have the knowledge and expertise and also there are good facilities. Only everyone works independently. Now it is important to have good internal communication and that we work together on a manual of procedure,” Asjes said.
