Groot Phillips gone from Curacao House after quarrel with Wiels

Curacao house in The HagueTHE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD – The General Director of the Curaçao House, which is the official representation of the government of Curaçao in the Netherlands, Ann Groot-Phillips, has laid down her work. This after a conflict with the Minister Plenipotentiary, Marvelyne Wiels. According to sources in the Curaçao House, these two have been at odds with each other for some time now. This is due to Wiels wanting to exceed the budget.

These sources even indicated that Wiels wants to exceed the budget by more than one million guilders. Earlier, the Prime Minister declared that these reports were only gossip and that there was no conflict at the Curaçao House.

Groot-Phillips became director of the House on March 3, 2013 succeeding Melvin Statia.
