Jamaloodin has a lot of guts saying that the financial situation is good

WILLEMSTAD – Today Curacao is bleeding profusely due to the financial policy known during the last 22 months. “Curacao is still bleeding!” according to member of parliament for the political party PAR, Pedro Atacho.

According to Atacho, Curacao started with a surplus of 50 million guilders on its national budget. In the motion of no confidence presented against the former minister of finance, George Jamaloodin by his own party and coalition members, it stated that Curacao did begin as an autonomous country in the Dutch Kingdom with a surplus. In the same motion the members of the coalition described the disastrous financial policy of the minister of finance which caused a deficit in the budget. Atacho stated that no one has to believe what he said, but just read the motion drafted by the coalition members Pueblo Soberano, MFK and MAN.

Atacho is thankful that there is a professional now as minister of finance otherwise the former minister will come again and try to present a nice picture of the situation. The interim government has given information in a professional manner. Our finance is in dire situation. It is peculiar that a few days ago the former minister of finance declared that the financial situation is good. That’s a lot of guts, Atacho said.

Today we have to hear that the deficit is so high that it is comparable to 2000 guilders per person on the island. This is thanks to the erratic policy of MFK, Pueblo Soberano and MAN. Now they are campaigning and asking for the people’s vote.
