Korpodeko criticizes Minister Palm

korpodeko-1WILLEMSTAD – Board members and the senior management of the development bank Korpodeko are very surprised at the recent statements made to the press by the Minister of Economic Development, Stanley Palm. That is according to Director Shesron Isidora. In a statement, he expresses his displeasure, but concludes with a handshake.

According to Isidora, Palm was repeatedly invited to visit Korpodeko. The organization has always answered questions made by the minister, “taking into account the constraints that an institution which is under the supervision of the Bank and Credit Institutions of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) has.”

Financial Statements

Korpodeko provides annually the financial statements to the Minister of Economic Development, Ministry of Finance, the General Court and the President of Parliament. Isidora: “All the aforementioned government agencies get this information provided despite the fact that Korpodeko has not received any subsidy from Curacao since 1996.”

"Korpodeko does not understand the terrifying comments, with incomplete information, made by Minister Palm relating to the institution, which only serves to bring the bank in a non-positive light towards the customers, employees and the public,” the director stated.

Given the importance to maintain a good relationship, Isidora invites the minister once again to get the information and also to work on a possible cooperation.
