MAN wants urgent debate on rates of admission and temporary residency

KoeimanWILLEMSTAD – The opposition party MAN, believes that the rates of admission and residency of foreigners is too high. The blue party wants the government to reconsider that amount they are now charging for a residency permit.

In January 2014, parliament approved the changes made to the Ordinance Admission and Expulsion and the Island Ordinance fees, municipal tax and dues. These changes opened the door for the government to increase to rates for admission and residency permits drastically.

According to the MAN families must sometimes pay up to 3,000 guilders to extend their stay. This leads to illegality, says the MAN. The MAN asked the President of Parliament, Mike Franco to schedule a public debate on this issue as soon as possible.
