Managements Public Companies do not have to accept invitation to appear in Parliament

WILLEMSTAD – Boards of Public Companies are not obliged to accept invitations from the Parliament or committees of the Parliament. This is according to the Advisory Council (RvA) in a memo to the Parliament of Curaçao.

This advice was requested in May last year by former Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte after a few heavy confrontations between former President of Parliament Ivar Asjes of Pueblo Soberano (PS), the Schotte-cabinet and local boards of public companies.

Even then there were disagreements between the PS and the Schotte’s party MFK on this topic.
