Max Pandt resigns as Cft member for BES

CftWILLEMSTAD – Max Pandt, member of the Committee for Financial Supervision (CFT) of the BES islands, steps down. The CFT reports this in a recent statement. Pandt announced to Minister Ronald Plasterk of the Interior and Kingdom Relations that his term expires in October and that he will step down as a member of said committee.

He is a Cft member since 2008. The public entities in the Caribbean are now searching for replacement for this position. It is expected to take some time and for that reason they’ve asked Mr. Pandt to stay a while longer until his replacement is found.


Pandt has a long career as a tax specialist. He has been employed by the tax authorities of the Netherlands Antilles and has its own tax consultancy in St. Maarten. In addition to his career in the tax world, he was Lieutenant - Governor of the Windward Islands (St. Maarten, St. Eustatius and Saba). Mr. Pandt is an active writer and commentator in the field of taxation and has various management functions.
