MFK demands meeting on Central Bank

Schotte1WILLEMSTAD - The MFK faction in parliament demands of the President of Parliament that he immediately calls a public meeting to discuss the investigation report of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS). According to the leader of the opposition party, Gerrit Schotte, a Central Committee meeting should take place immediately. This meeting should be on the report of the Central Audit Council (ARC) with the Bank’s Supervisory Board and its management.

According to Schotte, the President of Parliament, Marcoline Franco is trying to boycott this meeting. MFK demands that Franco respects the democratic rights of the faction and call the meeting immediately. The MFK has taken notice of a meeting request made by the opposition party PAR and coalition party PNP which was made on December 2. Both factions want to meet with the PwC and the management of the Bank. This meeting will take place before the Public Meeting requested by the MFK.

However, for the fraction indicates that this is not acceptable and Franco cannot selectively choose which meeting will be held first. The faction accused the president of playing political games when it comes to requests made by the MFK faction.
