MFK: ‘transfering Pretu brings Barber residents’ safety at risk’

PisasWILLEMSTAD – MFK member Gilmar 'Pik' Pisas it does not agree that the defendant Luigi Lorenzo Florentina, or Pretu, was transferred to a detention center in the Barber quarter (North side of the island). He states in a letter to the President of Parliament, Mike Franco. Pretu, who is suspected of involvement in the murder of politician Helmin Wiels and accused of the murder of Raul 'Bolle' Martinez, was moved recently under strict monitoring from the marine barracks in Suffisant to Barber.

Pisas believes that the security at the cells in Barber do not meet the requirements. He believes that Pretu can escape more quickly and thereby compromises the safety of the Barber residents.

In his letter, Pisas proposes a number of questions to the Minister of Justice. The MFK party wants to know whether the Minister has agreed to Pretu’s transfer and whether Barber is a suitable place for the detention of the suspect.
