Minister Fransisca: ‘FKP can get paid after they present audited figures’

FransiscaWILLEMSTAD – On August 20, 2013, representatives of the Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare have met with representatives of the Government Housing Foundation (FKP) to deal with the issue of a 12 million guilder subsidy.

During the meeting it became clear that the FKP did not turn in its audited financial statement of 2011, which is an indispensable criteria to receive the annual subsidy from the Government. After this issue was brought forth, FKP announced that they will present these figures in a month and a half.

To facilitate FKP and its clients who depend on this subsidy, the government officials proposed to form a committee which consists of FKP representatives, Policy makers from the Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare, Ministry of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning, Ministry of Finance and the Government Accountant’s Bureau (SOAB).

This committee will meet every week starting on August 27 of this year. Together they will prepare all necessary documents in order to give the 2013 subsidy to FKP. When they turn in the audited numbers of 2011, the subsidy will be paid immediately.

The subsidy from the Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare to the FKP includes the rent of about 3.500 homes. The Ministry has already included the 12 million in its 2014 budget reserved from FKP to comply with the subsidy of the rents.

FKP has to turn in its audited annual reports to prevent delay in the payment of the subsidy.
