Minister institutes the Curaçao Investment & Export Development Foundation (CINEX)

CINEXWILLEMSTAD – Recently the Minister of Economic Development, Stanley Palm established the Curaçao Investment & Export Development Foundation (CINEX) through a notary act.

Minister Palm’s efforts is to establish a single institution which is directed toward promoting investment on the island. The government, after 14 years, has finally been able to institute an Investment Promotion Agency for the island.

The CINEX is one of Minister Palm’s objectives to fortify and structure Curacao’s economy and also to create the necessary conditions to realize a strong and competitive position which in turn guarantees a sustainable development. The process to establish CINEX goes parallel with the formulation of a policy of promoting investments which will be done by the new institution.

Both the process and the policy are financed through an agreement signed between the governments of Curaçao and the Netherlands in which both parties have re prioritized some financial means.

CINEX’ approach will be based on attracting investments which are of high value of Curaçao, also to create jobs and generate foreign exchange currency.

CINEX will be located at the AmiDos Building at Pletterijweg 43 in Parera. According to the current planning, the process of starting the operations of the institution is in an advance stage. In a short time, the government will announce when CINEX’s doors will be open for the public.
