Minister Jesus-Leito makes agreements about technical assistance in relation to audits

THE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Minister of Traffic, Transportation and Urban Planning Zita Jesus-Leito has made agreements with the Dutch government on technical assistance during her working visit to the Netherlands to prepare two serious audits to which the entire Kingdom is subjected: audit of the aviation sector next year, followed in 2021 by an audit of the maritime sector.

The audits - one conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the other by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) - provide the four countries of the Kingdom with preparation work. The Netherlands has responded positively to Curaçao's request for assistance from specialists.

Jesus-Leito also consulted with implementing agencies such as the Inspectorate for the Environment and Transport and Rijkswaterstaat in the first days of the visit. She also spoke with the Dutch Safety Board and visited the Shipping and Transport College in Rotterdam, where a few dozen Curaçao students take a maritime education. The minister completes her working visit on Tuesday.
