Minister: ‘Pilot project homeschooling is going well’
WILLEMSTAD - About 15 children are participating in a pilot project for home education. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (OWCS) started the pilot project in mid-year.
Children who have received dispensation with regard to compulsory education are guaranteed education in this way.
According to Minister Marilyn Alcalá-Wallé of OWCS, it is mainly children of parents who are called digi-nomads. These are people who work in the digital sector and do not have a permanent place of residence or stay and therefore stay in Curaçao temporarily.
Local children can also qualify for home education and that is currently also happening.
