Minister Spies: Curaçao has big problems

WILLEMSTAD - A difficult task awaits the new cabinet on Curaçao. This is according to Spies, Minister of Kingdom Relations in response to the election on the island.

"Curaçao has major financial and economic problems," said Spies. According to her, the new government is also responsible to bridge the significant differences on the island. The election campaign has made it clear that there are contradictions, according to Spies.

Dutch political parties SP, PVV and PvdA are of the opinion that these elections were the Independence Party Pueblo Soberano became the largest party, ensures that the independence of Curaçao is quickly forthcoming. Pueblo Soberano wants to sever ties with the Netherlands.
